Amelia Mcbeth & her little brother Wilson both hosted their first ever charity event as Follow Your Dreams Charity Ambassadors recently.
T21 - Picnic in the Park was an Idea Amelia (aged 14) had to get families who have children with disabilities to meet up.
Amelia knows first hand how hard it can be for families who have a child with additional needs as Wilson who’s 3 has Down syndrome & another brother Ted has a chromosome disorder resulting in lots of health related issues for him.
The picnic was held at Pembrey Country Park on the 18th of August and despite poor weather In the morning the sun came out later in the day giving the picnic a lovely summer feel.
Amelia arranged for 2 magicians to entertain the children during the picnic. The fabulous Paul Cornish started the event off and Award-winning Dave Hitchcott put on a show to close. The fantastic Isabella Signs came to sign songs & wowed everyone with her skills.
Pegasus Ambulance control came along to support Amelia and brought several emergency vehicles including a mountain quad bike. Children were allowed to sit and have photos.
Amelia & Wilson’s big sister “Annamae-Nella MUA” did face painting & hair braiding
The raffle which Amelia arranged had amazing prizes on offer all donated by local shops & hotels: spa treatments & lunch for 2 at St Brides Spa Hotel Saundersfoot Pembrokeshire and an owl flying experience for four were amongst some of the amazing prizes up for grabs!
Cakes, drinks, bubbles & toys were all available for just a small donation again kindly given by-local shops - much to the excitement of the children
A great day was had by all!
A whopping total of £780 was raised by Amelia & Wilson & they are hoping to make T21 picnic in the park an Annual event.
Already Amelia’s planning on her next fundraiser - a festive Christmas raffle... should anyone wish to donate a gift please contact her through Wilson’s Facebook page Wilson - pretty fly for a small guy thank you.
